In and Around Historic Hot Springs

Welcome to the Black Hills, America's geological wonderland! Attractions are educational as well as entertaining and perfect for children. So much to see and do all year long you can't possibly see it all in a couple of days.

Hot Springs features the world class Mammoth Site, the Pioneer Museum, fine art and antique shopping. Water is everywhere! ~ Freedom Trail River Walk, Evans Plunge, Kidney Springs and day spas. Historic walking tours start daily from the Train Depot on River Street.

The Wild Horse Sanctuary is 11 miles south of town just across the Cheyenne River after passing by Cascade Springs and Cascade Falls, both local favorites.

Wind Cave National Park (complete with buffalo) is only 8 miles north of town and Custer State Park (more wildlife) just another 10 miles. Wind Cave offers outstanding ranger-led hikes every morning & campfire programs every evening ~ all free to the public!

Mount Rushmore does not allow pets and is 44 miles from Hot Springs. It's pretty easy to see everything in the Black Hills from Hot Springs ~ Crazy Horse Memorial, Jewel Cave, Wounded Knee, to mention just a few.
